The Emmado Kyogen always begins with a performance, of "Emmacho," and always flnishes
with a performance of this play. In facts it is performed without fall as the last play on the last day
of performing every year, and it shows the exploits of the hero Tametomo, as he subdues both
demons and evildoers.
The role of Tametomo is allotted in turn to each actor in the troupe, and a player may get the
chance to play this role only once in his life. The actors who portray the three main supporting
roles of the Crow, Parent Demon, and Child Demon, will in their turn take on the role of
Tametomo in the next few years. For the finale of the play, all the actors, except the one playing
Crow, appear on stage without their masks.
